How to Choose a Handmade Wedding Ring

A handmade wedding ring starts with the design you enjoy wearing. At Beespoke Bands, Richard makes each ring individually in his UK workshop, with options that vary by design. This guide helps you compare the collections and decide what to ask before ordering.

Start with the material and colour

Titanium: clean lines and subtle details

The Classic Titanium range includes carved edges, faceted textures, sterling silver inlays and 9ct gold inlays. Look at Titan Edge for a simple profile, Stone Forge for texture, Argentum for silver detail, or Aureum for the warmth of gold. Check each listing for the available widths and finishes.

Carbon fibre: a modern black wedding band

The Carbon Fibre collection includes different constructions. Some designs have a titanium core or band with carbon fibre, while the Carbon Fibre & Malachite ring uses solid carbon fibre with a green stone inlay. Read the material details of the individual ring rather than choosing by colour alone.

Damascus steel: a patterned metal band

Fenja in stainless Damascus steel features flowing patterns within the layered metal. The pattern gives each band its own character. Compare the finish and width options on its product page.

Wood and antler: natural texture

The Wood collection features whiskey barrel oak, walnut and rosewood, paired with titanium or carbon fibre. Some designs also include stone. For a different natural texture, Stag Heart combines naturally shed deer antler with titanium and malachite. Grain, colour and texture can vary between handmade pieces.

Stone, opal and meteorite: colour and contrast

Explore natural stone inlays for green malachite and golden-brown tiger’s eye. The Opal collection uses lab-created opal, including fiery colours and purple tones. Aqua Nova pairs lab-created blue opal with Campo del Cielo meteorite fragments in titanium. The product descriptions explain each design’s actual materials.

Choose a width and finish

A narrow band and a wider band can give the same design a different look and feel. Use the width shown in the listing photographs as a reference, then check the selectable widths. Polished, brushed and satin options vary between designs. If you are unsure about an option or want a different combination, ask Richard before placing the order.

Confirm your ring size before it is made

Beespoke Bands offers a Guaranteed Fit service using sizing rings before the final piece is made. Ask about sizing blanks in your chosen width. Most titanium and mixed-material rings cannot be resized in the traditional way, so confirming the fit is an important part of ordering. Read the sizing FAQs and the returns policy for the store’s full information.

Consider a personal engraving

The engraving add-on offers text and handwriting options for suitable rings. Order it alongside your ring and check the listing’s instructions. If you have a longer message or a particular placement in mind, confirm suitability first.

Allow time for making and delivery

The store’s usual making estimate is around two weeks before dispatch. Busy periods, complex designs and sizing verification can extend this. Delivery comes after production. Read the current shipping policy, and tell Richard your wedding or gift date before ordering if you have a deadline.

FAQ

How do I make sure I order the correct size?

I recommend having your finger sized by a professional jeweller. My Guaranteed Fit service also lets you try sizing rings before I make your final piece. Contact me about sizing blanks in your chosen width, and allow additional time for size confirmation.

How long does it take to make my ring?

Each ring is made to order and typically takes around 2 weeks to create. During busy periods (especially around Christmas), this may take a little longer. I always aim to keep you updated throughout the process.

Can the rings be resized?

Most of my rings (especially titanium and mixed-material designs) cannot be resized in the traditional way. If sizing is incorrect, I offer solutions such as remakes or adjustments — just get in touch and I’ll help sort it.

Are your rings suitable for everyday wear?

Yes — they’re designed for daily use. Materials like titanium are incredibly strong, lightweight, and resistant to corrosion. With proper care, your ring will last for years.

Can I add engraving to my ring?

Yes. Inside engraving is available for a small additional cost. You can add the Engraving listing to the basket with your message during checkout or contact me if you want something specific.

Will I see my ring before it’s sent?

Yes. I send photos of your finished ring before dispatch so you can see exactly what’s been made for you.

Are your rings really handmade?

Yes — every ring is individually handcrafted by me in my UK workshop. I don’t mass-produce or outsource anything, so each piece is made to order and completely unique.

Can I customise my ring?

Absolutely. You can choose different widths, finishes, and materials depending on the design. I also offer inside engraving for a personal touch. If you have a specific idea, just message me and I’ll help bring it to life.
